Research Interests
My research in the Ferdig Lab is looking to understand what drives drug resistance in malaria. Frontline antimalarial therapies are combinations of a minimum of two drugs with different mechanisms of action, half life, and absorption; however, despite this, antimalarial resistance remains a major global public health problem. By combining phenotypic assays, genotypic information, and drug dynamics, my goal is to develop an assay to assess and model how resistance arises to combination therapies.
Education
Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a specialization in Cell and Molecular Biology and Genetics from Boston University.
Currently a 4th year PhD student in the Integrated Biomedical Sciences program at Notre Dame.
